A woman opens her shop for business.

Michael R. Morgan serves as Executive Director of the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce, effective October 13, 2025. He brings more than three decades of leadership shaped by federal service, nonprofit work, and community engagement. His focus at NVBCC is to expand opportunities for Black-owned and underserved businesses, strengthen partnerships, and grow access to resources that move member companies forward. He is committed to delivering results for the Chamber’s 550+ members and advancing economic power across the region.

Michael is also the Founder and President of A Few Good MENtors, Inc., launched in 2019 to guide boys and young men ages 8–21 into adulthood with purpose, confidence, and integrity. Inspired by the example of his parents and grounded in faith, he built AFGM on the S.H.I.E.L.D.S. values of Spirituality, Health, Integrity, Leadership, Development, and Stewardship. He is a certified DISC instructor, author, and speaker who equips mentors, parents, and community leaders with practical tools.

Before founding AFGM, Michael served 36 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He conducted countless interviews, trained and mentored colleagues, and developed deep expertise in leadership, discipline, and resilience. That experience drives the direct, hands-on approach he brings to youth development and to his work with the business community.

His mission at NVBCC is to accelerate the growth of Black-owned businesses in Northern Virginia through empowerment, education and opportunities.
